Cyient Semiconductors has announced a strategic financing transaction with funds managed by EAAA India Alternatives Ltd and affiliated co-investors, aimed at accelerating growth in power semiconductors and custom silicon solutions.

The transaction includes approximately $10 million in equity financing at a post-money valuation of roughly $500 million, along with approximately $20 million in structured debt. The combined funding of approximately $30 million is intended to strengthen the company’s capital structure and support expansion of its global semiconductor business.

The investment comes as artificial intelligence increasingly shifts focus toward power efficiency challenges. Rapid growth in AI computing infrastructure is expected to drive a sharp increase in data center power consumption, creating opportunities for companies with differentiated power semiconductor technologies.

Over the past year, Cyient Semiconductors has significantly expanded its semiconductor capabilities through several strategic moves. The company acquired Kinetic Technologies, adding a portfolio of more than 250 products, over 100 patents, and a cumulative shipment base exceeding 3 billion chips. It also launched India’s first GaN power IC family through collaboration with Navitas and established ecosystem partnerships with GlobalFoundries, MIPS, and Navitas.

The company intends to deploy the new funding across three major areas: accelerating product R&D for power semiconductors and custom ASSPs, building in-house semiconductor validation and testing capabilities in India, and supporting working capital needs for larger global customer programs.

Cyient Semiconductors has announced the launch of its first gallium nitride (GaN) power device family for the Indian market, developed using technology licensed from Navitas Semiconductor.

The launch marks a significant milestone for India’s domestic power semiconductor ecosystem, positioning Cyient Semiconductors as a new entrant in the high-performance GaN market. The initial portfolio includes seven integrated 700 V GaN power devices designed for applications such as AI data centers, telecom infrastructure, consumer fast chargers, industrial power systems, and e-mobility platforms.

The devices integrate driver, control, protection, EMI management, and current sensing functions within compact DPAK packages, simplifying system design and accelerating product development. The portfolio spans multiple resistance levels from 120 mΩ to 330 mΩ, supporting both QR and PFC/high-side topologies.

Strategically, the collaboration builds on an agreement announced in late 2025 under which Cyient licenses Navitas’ GaN technology for deployment in India. In addition to local commercialization, Cyient will act as a second-source supplier for selected Navitas products already in production, strengthening supply chain resilience and supporting domestic sourcing initiatives aligned with India’s “Make in India” strategy.

From a technology perspective, GaN devices offer substantial advantages over traditional silicon, including higher switching speeds, lower losses, and improved thermal efficiency. These benefits are increasingly critical in AI infrastructure and compact high-power systems where efficiency and power density directly impact operating costs and scalability.

Looking ahead, Cyient plans to expand the portfolio through partnerships with local OSAT providers, with a long-term goal of enabling domestic manufacturing of GaN power devices in India. This phased approach reflects a broader industry trend toward regional semiconductor ecosystems and localized supply chains.

From a market standpoint, the announcement highlights India’s growing ambition to participate more actively in advanced power semiconductor technologies, particularly in strategically important segments such as AI infrastructure, telecom power, and electrification.

Navitas Semiconductor Corporation and Cyient Semiconductors Private Limited, a fast-growing provider of ASIC, ASSP and power solutions, announced a strategic long-term partnership to accelerate GaN adoption in India and establish a complete end-to-end GaN ecosystem.

The collaboration outlines co-development of GaN products, digital and mixed-signal ICs, GaN-based system modules and design-enablement platforms addressing high-voltage, high-power markets in India, including AI data centers, electric mobility, performance computing, energy grid infrastructure and industrial electrification. The partners also intend to strengthen a local supply chain and manufacturing base aligned with the Government of India’s “Make in India” initiative, while deploying IC technologies to speed solution development in these segments.

Planned deliverables include products based on Navitas’ current GaN platforms alongside new devices tailored to India’s market needs. Cyient Semiconductors will focus on building a secure, local supply chain and ecosystem to reduce time-to-market for developers and OEMs across the region.

“This partnership represents a pivotal step in India’s semiconductor future in solving the complexities of power delivery at high voltages,” said Suman Narayan, CEO, Cyient Semiconductors. “By combining Navitas’ proven GaN technology with Cyient Semi’s design, manufacturing and supply-chain strengths, we’re creating a self-sustaining ecosystem that will accelerate the market adoption of GaN. Our goal is to make GaN accessible to every OEM looking to design, build and scale from India.”

“I believe the growth of GaN technology in India will exceed global trends, and Cyient Semiconductors is the perfect partner for Navitas to drive this revolution,” said Chris Allexandre, President and CEO, Navitas Semiconductor. “Together, Navitas and Cyient will power India’s vision of India for India—innovation, by India, for the world.”

The initiative is designed to empower Indian design houses and OEMs with locally sourced GaN components, manufacturing support and engineering collaboration, enabling faster development cycles and lowering barriers to GaN adoption. It also reinforces Cyient Semiconductors’ focus on driving semiconductor innovation, localization and scalability across critical technology sectors, while establishing a direct channel for Indian customers to access GaN technology with reliable procurement and technical support.
